How bad and how wonderful can food be for your health? Food is my cultural element. It is a material element which makes it one of our basic needs, it is also something we make and use. This means that people can touch the element and use it for some thing. Food is one of the things that make us alive and healthy, but fast food and sweets can make us fat and sick, if you eat too much. So, fast food and sweets can make a big difference when we say food is healthy!

Some people get really fat by eating these things but if you eat them once a month there will be no problem. We must eat food three times a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can eat a cereal bar or a fruit for snack. Make it something healthy. It is much better then eating a chocolate bar during these breaks or potato chips bag!

Overweight problems have increased here in Brazil. Is this because fast food is getting popular and people are eating too many hamburgers and drinking too much soda? There was a study that children from the ages six to eighteen are the most overweight in four countries. One of them is Brazil. First, the Americans started with two fast food restaurants, McDonalds and Burger King. The Brazilians got to know them, as both companies opened the restaurants here in Brazil. Then, the Brazilians began to like the restaurants more and more, fogetting that they were bad to their health. Since the restaurants became very popular, Brazilians opened two other restaurants. Their names are Giraffes and Habib’s. Giraffes food is meat with rice and French fries along with other things too. Habib’s food is Saudi Arabias so they have bread with meat and other sauces together, very typical food. Besides, the percent of people underweight went lower. It went from 14.8 to 8.6 percent. This means that people are getting fat easily. So, every thing I told you is very important for everyone's health. But please, always remember that when you will chose to eat a cheeseburger or a green salad, think twice, especially when you are in Brazil!
