Did you know Brazil has some of the most beautiful icons in the world?   An icon is both material and non-material culture element because you can touch an icon like touching a picture and you see an image in your mind.

An icon could be a mental picture of something, how you picture things in your mind and how you feel about it. It could be solid or flat for example, the Eifel Tower is a solid image you see. It gives you an emotion. It is important to people French citizens.

Brazil has a few things that represent it like the festivals, holidays, and much more, I am going to talk about the most popular one which is “Carnaval”. My first fact Carnaval is a Brazilian festival which 5 schools which go to go in you need to be good in the little schools.

The bigger schools go to a festival in the middle of the street and dance the Brazilian music samba for 5 days! The referees see the schools dancing and give them a grade. The school with the highest average will win.. Soccer represents Brazil because it is nice fact is that Brazil has a very popular sport in Brazil and in the world, soccer.

My third thing is the Brazilian soccer. A nice thing about Brazilian soccer is they have the soccer club with more fans in the world.

People feel happy of cheering to Flamengo which is a world wide sport and Brazil has the best players for example, if you go to Europe or the USA and ask somebody if they know the Brazilian soccer players and I guarantee you that they will know. A very famous player is Pelé (Edson Arantes do Nascimento) is the best soccer player of all time. Another player Ronaldinho Gaúcho won the best player of the year two times in 2004 and 2005. Soccer is the most popular sport in Brazil and in the world. Even old mans invite each other for a late afternoon game. My fourth and last thing is “Cristo Redentor”. Cristo Redentor was inaugurated in 12 of October of 1931 because they didn’t wanted to honor Jesus Crist but the Roma catholic church.

Cristo Redentor is a big statue of Jesus Christ with his arms open. The statue stays in a city in the state of Rio de Janeiro which is the same name of the city. To get to the statue you have to pass through a road called “Estrada de Rodagem” which lead to the top of a mountain which Cristo Rendentor stands on. Cristo Redentor represents Brazil because if you ask someone about Rio de Janeiro (where Cristo Redentor is) they will say “Oh, the place where Cristo Redentor is!”. Another reason is represents Brazil is that it is one of the 7 wonders of the World in 3rd place. In conclusion the things that represent Brazil like a few festivals are very nice to represent it’s country.
