Brazil has a lot of types of technology. You know that in Brazil it is full of videogames. Some of the people have a Playstation. Technology, my culture element, is a material element because it’s not an idea. We touch and see it and the whole world uses it. Technology can be tools and machines. Cars are machines that transport you to places you would never go walking. Also technology is something we make and use. Technology is the knowledge to make things. Here are some examples of technology: cars, computers, videogames, cell phones, Playstation, and electronics.Technology that is very important.

In 1996, Brazil had approximately 100 universities and colleges to support basic technology and science. Do you want to know about Brazilian technology? There is the Nation Council of Scientific Technological Development and internet. First, I am going to talk about the Council. The Council was founded in 1951 in Brasilia. They wanted to find ways of doing science and technology in Brazil. so Brazilians could find ways to get scientists work published. The first time Brazil went to space because of the NCSTD. It happened in 1973, with the launching of the SONDA II rocket.

Now I am going to talk about the internet. Most upper and middle class people in Brazil have computers. Brazilians stay connected with their family by the computer even if someone is in another state or country. People stay connected by sending emails, messengers, Orkut, and things like that. Brazil has close to 26 million internet users. Teens in Brazil use computers to play and to send emails. This is very important to Brazilians because they want to know what is happening to their family. So now do you see what technology is like in Brazil.
